§ 110-1. Casual sale of vehicles.

  • (a)

    Permits. The sale of an automobile, vehicle, trailer of any kind or type, or contrivance or part thereof shall require a permit unless the seller is duly licensed with the city to sale such product and the sales are in accordance with the city official zoning ordinance. Proof of permit must be posted in the front windshield of automobiles/vehicles or in a conspicuous location of a trailer of any kind or type, or contrivance or part thereof. Each residence is allowed no more than two permits per calendar year.

    (b)

    Application. The permit application shall contain the location of the point of sale, name and address of the owner, registration number, VIN number or serial number, make and model, and permission to place on any workplace property owned by someone else. Application shall be made on forms provided by the city.

    (c)

    Point of sale. Any automobile, vehicle, trailer of any kind or type, or contrivance or part thereof that is permitted for sale shall be positioned such that it does not prohibit the efficient flow of traffic and is in a clearly designated parking space.

Sections I and II of an ordinance adopted Nov. 2, 2006, repealed the former § 110-1 and enacted a new § 110-1 as set out herein. The former § 110-1 pertained to storage of motor vehicles and derived from Code 1977.
