§ 38-42. Authority to obtain voting machines.

  • The city election commissioners, and specifically the chairperson on behalf of the election commissioners, is authorized to negotiate with the county board of supervisors to rent or otherwise obtain use and availability of a sufficient number of voting machines to be used on each occasion when a municipal election is to be conducted. The city election commissioners shall be responsible for having such voting machines at the designated polling precincts for each municipal election, including primary elections, and shall be responsible for the facilities where the elections are to be held and conducted to assure that physical arrangements and use of the facilities are in accordance with all agreements or arrangements which the city may have with the owners of the particular facilities where the elections are being held and conducted.
