§ 114-254. Level of service established.

  • The mayor and board of aldermen have determined that the adoption of a water system level of service of 4,000 gallons per minute for a fire duration period of eight hours is in the best interest of the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of the city. Achieving an eight-hour level of service through a longterm coordinated and comprehensive capital improvements program for water system improvements will enhance the ability of the city to reduce the destructive effect of fire and provide greater health and safety for the citizens of the city.
